Social Distancing Distraction: Repurposing Fashion; Wardrobe Repeats Please!

Hey Loves! So I’ve got a confession to make… I am an outfit repeater! Yup, I said it and own it proudly lol. In a society of “one and done” media looks it can be easy to disregard an outfit once it’s been “gramed” (you know posted on social media like Instagram and what not). Well, I’m not the type to throw something away just because I’ve worn it once – I’ve become a pro at restyling and changing up the looks of garments – so today, I wanted to to share some of my tricks with you all!

I’ll show you how to take this dress and make it into…
This!

My process: once I’ve worn something at least three times I’m ready to change it up – style wise or completely altering a garment. As someone who doesn’t gravitate towards white I decided to alter this baby!

First up is fabric dye – I like using RIT Dye Easy to use, easy directions and step by step instructions, and I always get the color I’m looking for.

Once you’ve got it all dyed you can leave it as is, like the image below…

Still a gorgeous dress, now in a sunny yellow, and I loved shooting it this way buuuuut I wanted to take it another step further and turned this dress in to a crop top with matching skirt and it turned out beautifully!

So to achieve this two piece look I grabbed my fabric scissors and cut straight through the seam that connected the bodice of the dress to the skirt. I had to be extra careful when cutting due to the liner, once cut I pinned my hem on the top and the skirt, then hand sewed the new hems with the liner on the top and the skirt and voila!! A gorgeous new set to romp around in.

Until next time Loves! As always thank you for the support and please feel free to leave a comment on what other content you’d like to see while we’re practicing social distance!

Wardrobe Remix With Pretty Little Thing: White Jumpsuit Styled Three Ways

Hey Loves! Back again with a brand new wardrobe remix! In this edition of wardrobe remix I’m styling this gorgeous jumpsuit with puff sleeves from Pretty Little Thing! But first let’s talk about this gorgeous retro vibin one piece: as a petite woman (5’1) the length of the legs was waaay to much for me so I ended up having to cuff the hem, the fabric itself is comfortable with lots of give so I was never feeling like a stuffed sausage in this baby, not once was I scratching or itching because of uncomfortable fabric or liners and surprisingly the fabric was pretty lightweight so I wasn’t sweltering in it either, the plunging neckline was a blast to play with and it fit phenomenally around my middle.

Now let’s talks styling; with the plunging neckline I knew that any way I styled this look the lingerie underneath was going to show, so I did a little research and found Brassy Bra (boob tape) to create this glowing cleavage!

The first way I styled this jumpsuit was with a body chain that disappeared beneath the fabric giving that vavavoom sexy appeal I love oh so much, I added bright and colorful heels to off play so much white and a fun bright lip that matched my heels to livin up this look!

The second way I styled this look was by putting a little retro spin on it! First I adjusted the length of the sleeve and made it three quarters. I then went with a high ponytail, vintage looking cat eye bejeweled sunglasses, and a polka dot belt with the cutest bow in the back. I ended this look with a pair of edgy black and white heels, red earrings that matched my lipstick, and a vintage black hand bag.

The final way I styled this look was coordinating accessories and makeup: I used a powerful red lip that I matched my earrings, collar, sunglasses, toe nail polish, and clutch to. Clear heels kept the focus on my red accents. I also once again adjusted the sleeve length to just above the wrists on my forearm.

A few styling notes; I wanted to add that any jacket, cropped sweater/shrug, or shoulder wrap will also drastically change the look of this jumpsuit, with it being warmer weather I stuck with warmer looks this time. Also with how much room there is in the fabric of the legs of this jumpsuit it would be super easy to temporarily change the length of the legs by using fabric tape or hemming tape and changing the length of the legs to shorts or Capri length, then when done remove tape and BAM you still have your full length jumpsuit.

Until next time Loves,

I have to tell you Loves, I have been secretly in love with all things Rihanna for some time so when I was able to get my hands on a couple Savage Fenty items I was over the moon ecstatic that they fit so well and seemed to be made with plus bodies in mind during their construction phase. The garments fit great! The thong had a large enough band to cover my lower second belly, the crop top was comfortable and didn’t squeeze or cut off circulation on my bigger arms and hell – I climbed a freakin tree in them lol so I’m gonna say yup, this is one of my favorite lingerie sets!

Playful Promises is another brand I’ve truly enjoyed testing out. The fit is great, I love the collaborations they’ve done with plus influencers like Gabi Greg and Fuller Figure Fuller Bust. The garments are quality made and for phenomal and I also love the designs. Fun and playful to flirty and romantic, straight down to a little kinky: they’ve got just about everyone covered.

Curvy Couture Intimates is another great brand I’ve had the honor of working with! I enjoyed the fit and patterns, the fabric choices are just gorgeous and I loved the attention to detail this brand pays. Below I’m featured wearing their crochet bra, push up strapless bra, garter belt, and thong. Each item fit me to perfection and was also comfortable to wear. The support my Dd’s got from the strapless bra was nothing short of a miracle! I truly love and enjoy the garments this brand produces.

Leading Lady Bras is a brand that has been been dedicated for over 78 years to providing quality undergarments that are thoughtfully designed for fit, comfort, and support! The quality of each garment I’ve tried has been above and beyond wonderful. Below I’m featured wearing the front closure and underwire free racerback bra, purple underwire bra and the matching white brief and bra set.

Plus Size Fashion: Style Session with Part & Parcel

Hey Loves! Back again and this time I’m styling four garments from Part & Parcel; I’ll discuss fit and fabric plus the details of each styled look.

Below are the product shots of each item sent, and then we’ll get in to each look 😉

“Dimensional” sweater

Long Sleeve Tunic

The Plaid Trousers

And The Refined Jogger

Like what you see already and want to get shopping: Click Here

All right My Loves let’s dive in to Look One with the Dimensional Sweater:

I chose to pair this sweater with a pair of blue leggings and blue winter boots trimmed with white – the perfect Mom outfit for running errands around with the little one. This is the perfect outfit for comfort and chic by pairing with boots and leggings, not to mention easy to throw together with minimal effort but the result is Mom-chic cute!

Now, I have to say Look Two is my FAVORITE!! The Plaid Trouser is to DIE FOR! I love the amazing purple hues of the plaid, I love how well tailored the trousers felt on, and I loved how deep the pockets are making them functional – Mama loves a good pocket.

I chose to pair this look with a black crop top, fuzzy winter jacket, and a pair of black heels. By choosing to pair the trousers with muted colors, like black, the eye is immediately caught by that gorgeous purple!

Look Three is also a fun more bold look using The jogger Pant! Now as a petite babe I have to be careful with “jogger/harem” style pants because the extra fabric in the design paired with short legs I can sometimes get swamped down by that extra fabric around the ankles and the effect is less than pleasing – to say the least lol it throws off my proportions and looks wonky. Not the case here!!

I chose to pair this amazing pant with a a fitted black tank, a cropped white long sleeve tie top, black leather jacket and a pair of brown chunky booties.

And last, but certainly not least The Long Sleeve Tunic: this top is uber comfortable AND fit fabulously! There was no squeezing my bigger arms in to the sleeves so that meant not having to size up in the top.

I paired this look with distressed denim shorts, mule flats, oversized sunglasses and a red purse that matched my lipstick. With the two bolder looks above I wanted to show my Mom side again: this top is comfortable, has a very classic yet professional look, has amazing room for chasing my toddler, still casual yet chic – this is one of those looks that takes two minutes to throw together and leaves you looking fabulous and ready for whatever the day has in store.

Here’s a fun style session video discussing fit, fabric, and styling!

Part & Parcel’s mission is to make fashion that fits the plus community, and to empower the community to style and share their fabulousness while offering the option of earning real money, Plus to Plus.

The foundation of Part & Parcel is based on sharing these garments with others, Plus body to Plus body – whether IRL or online, making meaningful connections with others and sharing fashion that actually is designed for plus bodies.

And that’s not all that’s different about Part & Parcel, wait for it…. Dimensional sizing!!! And each pair of shoes already comes in a wide width – so no worries there.

The Go-to T-Shirt

Shoes

The Flat Gladiator Sandal

The Block Heeled Sandal

*shown here is the sleeveless wrap dress.

Now, let’s talk FIT my Loves! First I want to say that everything fit phenomenally!!! The pants where comfortable, no muffin top and the fabric had give and stretch so I wasn’t fighting my way in to anything! The dress flowed and encased my curves like a dream!! The adjustable details make all the difference and the button snap enclosure on this inside kept my ladies from busting out but still kept the flowing look the dress was going for! The long sleeve top was also amazing – my arms are constantly struggling with tops because of those size so I’m usually forced to size up which leaves a gaping bust. With Part & Parcel’s sizing not only did this blouse fit perfectly but I was loose around my arms and the bust was perfect!

The SHOES! Y’all the shoes are bloody amazing!! First of all the buckles on the shoes are actually clip in snaps so no needing your partner to help strap you in! The wide width makes all the difference and the soles are comfortable! I could have kept those gladiator sandals on for hours without even noticing I was wearing shoes.

For reference when I discuss sizing and fit: I am a size 18/20 and wear a shoe size of 8w.

Check out the Part & Parcel Catalogue here! To shop the collection send me a message here and we’ll get ya started! To order items you shop through partners which happens to be me 😉

Interested in becoming a Part & Parcel partner to start making an income selling amazing garments to fellow plus bodies – send me a message here and we’ll get ya started on that too!!

Any questions on sizing or how to order, leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you Loves ASAP!!

Leave those thoughts in the comments – I’d love to hear your opinions on the Plus to Plus selling/shopping aspect, as well as the dimensional sizing!! I have major arm issues when I order shirts or blazers so I’m exceptionally excited about this dimensional sizing options!!

Until next time my Loves,

Kat XO
